ABOUT US

The purpose of Christian education

is to assist parents in training their children to be Christ-like.  This teaching and nurturing process begins in the home and continues throughout life.  The Christian school, in addition to the home and the church, is a place where the process of Christian education takes place. The foundation of Christian education is the Word of God.  From God's Word the philosophy of Christian education is developed.  Its philosophy stands against the godless philosophies of humanism, materialism, and situation ethics.

New Jerusalem Academy is an educational ministry of the New Jerusalem Church.  We request that our parents cooperate with us in the educational and Scriptural goals which we seek to achieve. NJA, then, acts in cooperation with the home and the church to produce Christ-likeness in its students; however, the ultimate responsibility for Christian education of their children remains with the parents.

Statements of Faith

  • The Word

The Bible is God’s Word, breathed out by him. It is inerrant, infallible, and the final authority for determining what is true (what we must believe) and what is right (how we must live). All truth claims and ethical standards must be tested by God’s final Word, which is Scripture alone.

  • God

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essenc

  • Creation

We believe that God is the creator of all things, He created male and female, in His image and for His own glory. Man’s purpose in life is  to bring glory to God by enjoying Him forever. Adam, the first man, sinned in his disobedience toward God thereby breaking fellowship with God, and through such disobedience sin extended to all mankind. We are all born sinners, spiritually dead and relationally separated from God

  • Creation

That all people are connected to Adam both naturally and federally. Therefore, because of original sin everyone is born under the curse of God’s law and all break his commandments through sin. There is no difference in the condition of sinners due to age, ethnicity, or sex. All are depraved in all their faculties and all stand condemned before God’s law. All human relationships, systems, and institutions have been affected by sin.

  • Salvation

That salvation is granted by God’s grace alone received through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Every believer is united to Christ, justified before God, and adopted into his family. Thus, in God’s eyes there is no difference in spiritual value or worth among those who are in Christ. Further, all who are united to Christ are also united to one another regardless of age, ethnicity, or sex. All believers are being conformed to the image of Christ. By God’s regenerating and sanctifying grace all believers will be brought to a final glorified, sinless state of perfection in the day of Jesus Christ.

  • Eternity

We believe there shall be a resurrection of the saved to eternal life and a resurrection of the unsaved to eternal punishment in hell. Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity
